Printed Matter is pleased to announce the return to the NY Art Book Fair. It will be held at 548 W 22nd St., which is the historic site of Printed Matter’s first NYABF. The fair is just around the corner of our Chelsea bookstore.
With renewed energy and intent, we are planning NYABF 2022. Our primary goals are to provide visibility and distribution for artists' books publishers, to foster conversation and exchange and to establish new and lasting relationships.
This community has come together since the Fair's inception in 2006. Printed Matter's Art Book Fairs has evolved over the past two year to include a virtual Fair, collaborations and reimagined interdisciplinary events as well as programming. We have seen the strength of publishers and artists despite so many challenges. The work in artist's book publishing is more urgent today than ever. We are determined to bring back the Fair in a meaningful and safe way.
We are looking forward to working with our new partners at 548 W 22nd St., and we thank MoMA PS1, the NYABF 2009-2019 host, for their partnership and dedication to Printed Matter over a decade.
NYABF 2022 is now accepting exhibitor applications. Deadline to apply for NYABF 2022 is May 3, 2011, 11:59 EST. This Fair will feature a wide range of artists, collectives, small presses and institutions as well as galleries, booksellers and distributors. The strength of the submitted materials will determine which exhibitors will be chosen. We aim to increase representation by focusing on identity, geography and scale of publishing operations.
